
Jodie Carroll
Owner/Artistic Dance Director
Jodie Carroll is a distinguished figure in the realm of dance, graduating from Meredith College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance. Her academic journey encompassed a double concentration in Private Studio Teaching and Performance and Choreography. During her tenure at Meredith, she exhibited exceptional leadership qualities as the President of the Meredith Dance Theater, Vice President of the Meredith Jazz and Tap Company, and Vice President of the esteemed dance honor society, Nu Delta Alpha. Her exemplary contributions were recognized through accolades such as Choreographer of the Year, Performer of the Year, Dedication in Dance, and Outstanding Leadership in Dance, bestowed upon her by both faculty and peers. Further enriching her education, Jodie conducted her student teaching internship under the mentorship of Kirstie Spadie and Brenda Campbell at the North Carolina Dance Institute.
Jodie’s journey in dance commenced at the tender age of 4, and her training spans an impressive array of styles, including Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, Clogging, Hip-Hop, Modern, and Pointe. Jodie’s pre-professional experience materialized through collaborations with renowned choreographers in the Raleigh area, including Courtney Greer, Carol Finley, Ashley Spears, and Talani Torres. Her talent graced multiple prominent platforms, including American College Dance Festivals, the North Carolina Dance Alliance, North Carolina Dance Festival, and NC Dances. A pinnacle moment came in 2011 when she had the honor of presenting her choreography at the American College Dance Festival held at Elon University.
Since graduating from Meredith, Jodie has dedicated herself to the dance community by assuming roles as the Head Instructor of competition teams at several triad area dance studios. Her guidance has propelled these teams to clinch accolades such as Overall Top Score Awards, while her choreography has garnered recognition through Choreography Awards, Bravo Awards, and Most Inspirational Awards at various competitions. Continuously striving for growth, Jodie obtained her Acrobatic Arts Certification in 2015 and incorporates their esteemed curriculum in Acrobatic dance. Her commitment to advancement led her to receive certifications in Progressing Ballet Technique’s Junior, Senior, and Advanced Programs in April 2019. The same year, she achieved Module 2 certification in Acrobatic Arts curriculum and acquired certifications in aerials and back handsprings.
In 2018, Jodie laid the foundation of the Jodie Carroll Dance Company, a testament to her dedication to fostering young talent. Under her guidance, the competition team flourished, securing numerous accolades including Platinums, 1st place overall awards, Judge’s Awards, and Ultimate Showmanship titles. Jodie’s unwavering love and passion for dance continue to be a guiding light, nurturing these qualities in every student she mentors.

Hilliary DeVall
Administrative Coordinator/Dance Instructor
Hilliary DeVall joined JCDC in April 2019 as the Office Manager and later became a member of the JCDC teaching staff in 2021.
Hilliary earned her Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies with teaching licensure from Averett University and her Masters in Curriculum & Instruction and Instructional Technology from the University of Virginia. She taught kindergarten for five years in Pittsylvania County before transitioning to a full-time role at JCDC in July of 2020.
A native of Danville, Hilliary has a deep-rooted connection to the world of dance. She underwent 13 years of training at the Meredith Gravely School of Dance, mastering ballet, tap, jazz, pointe, contemporary, and hip hop. Throughout this time, she participated in various Dance Masters of America dance conventions, attended guest choreographer classes, and notably performed with The Great Russian Ballet in their rendition of “The Nutcracker.”
Hilliary is enthusiastic about sharing her passion for dance with the JCDC community. While continuing her role as office manager, she fulfills multiple responsibilities including managing costumes, resolving account matters, placing orders, and providing support to the extended JCDC family.
Outside of her professional roles, Hilliary is married to her husband Trey. They are parents to a son, Archer and daughter, Blythe, and a Jack Russell Terrier mix named Ellie. Together, they reside on a 65-acre farm in Pittsylvania County.

Jade Jordan
Dance Instructor
Jade Jordan, originally from Goldsboro, NC, embarked on her dance journey at the tender age of 3 under the tutelage of Goldsboro School Of Ballet. Her dedication led her to pursue her dance education at Meredith College, culminating in her graduation in May 2021 with a B.A. in Dance. Her specialized focus was on Private Studio Teaching, and she also achieved a Professional Performance Certificate.
During her time at Meredith College, Jade was a key member of the Meredith Dance Theatre and actively contributed to the Meredith Improv Group. In recognition of her commitment and talent, she held the position of Vice President within the dance honor society, Meredith Dance Association. Her remarkable performance skills and exponential growth were acknowledged through awards bestowed upon her by the faculty at Meredith. Jade had the privilege to showcase her artistry and skills at esteemed events like the American College Dance Association and the North Carolina Dance Education Organization.
Jade boasts proficiency in a diverse array of dance styles, encompassing ballet, tap, jazz, pointe, Irish, modern, and contemporary. As she embarks on her teaching journey at Jodie Carroll Dance Company, she radiates enthusiasm. Eager to share her profound love for dance and teaching, Jade is excited to impart her knowledge to the students at JCDC.

Amy Cutler
Dance Instructor
Amy Cutler (Bedford, Virginia) is a dedicated and passionate dance educator who began her training at the age of seven under LeeAnne Schwartz and Shayna Crews. A graduate of Shenandoah University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance, Amy brings a wealth of performance and choreographic experience into every class she teaches.
During her time at Shenandoah, she trained with renowned faculty including Tiffanie Carson, Daniel Padierna, Mary Robare, Maurice Fraga, and Shylo Martinez, and performed works by acclaimed artists such as Yoshito Sakuraba, Ilana Goldman, and Katherine Lopes. These rich artistic experiences continue to shape her approach in the studio, where she aims to create an environment that is both technically challenging and creatively inspiring.
Amy has choreographed several original works including Deep Currents (2021) and Don’t Always Believe Darkness Awaits (2023), which was selected for performance at the Mid-Atlantic South American College Dance Association. These opportunities have fueled her love of choreography and sparked her drive to help students find their own voice through movement.
As a teacher, Amy is known for her positive energy, thoughtful class structure, and commitment to student growth. She thrives on creating space for dancers to feel empowered, confident, and connected to their artistry. Whether working with beginners or advanced dancers, her goal is always to inspire passion, discipline, and joy in every class.

Sabrina Wiles
Dance Instructor
Sabrina Wiles was born and raised in Danville, VA where she began dancing at Meredith Gravely School of Dance at the age of three. There she trained for 15 years in a wide variety of styles including ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, contemporary, and hip hop. Wiles also competed nationally as part of the studio’s award-winning team, The Meredith Gravely Dance Company. With a deep love for both performing and teaching, Sabrina has worked with young dancers since the age of 15, serving as a class demonstrator, private instructor, and summer class teacher during school breaks.
Sabrina recently graduated from Shenandoah University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. At Shenandoah, Wiles choreographed and designed lights for numerous dances along with performed for faculty and student choreographed works all four years. College expanded her styles to now include modern, Horton technique, contact improvisation, and commercial heels. Throughout her collegiate dance career, she has traveled to perform and train in cities such as Los Angeles, New York, Las Vegas, and in several villages across Greece, bringing a well-rounded and global perspective to her classes.
Sabrina is passionate about helping dancers grow in both skill and confidence, and she can’t wait to share her love of movement with the community!
